- "He's not going to let this go." Ash's voice was a snarl, his arm still locked protectively around Rhea's waist as they walked away from the Hall of the Council. The atmosphere hung thick with the scent of fear and fury, the lingering aftershock of the pack's explosive reaction to her defiance.
- "No," Kai agreed, his voice sharp, his gaze sweeping the darkness of the academy grounds. "He's been openly embarrassed. He will not rest until he gets his power back. This isn't about Rhea anymore; it's about his reputation and his power."
- "Good," Blaze snarled, his voice low and threatening. "Come on then. I'm tired of words. Tired of his limitations. Tired of battling words. I'm ready to battle."
