• Ayla’s entire body shook. “I wanted to help her, I swear. I got out, Kael, I did, but my friends—they told me to leave her. They said she was evil, that she deserved it—that if anyone found out, they’d think it was my fault. I thought she’d die before morning. I thought she would be dead and someone would find her and this would all go away, but then her body just disappeared!”
