• She nodded looking at her feet. "If I'd known that would happen... No, if I knew Lisandra was so evil I never would have let her into our lives"
• "How have you been Gwen? TC mentioned something about you living in fear. What are you afraid of?" She looked on as Gwen fidgeted, wringing her hands and shifting from one foot to the other. At some point she glanced behind her as if she wanted to be anywhere but in that room with her. Maybe her questions had been too direct and she didn't know Gwen that well to be prying into her life. They hadn't gotten along or been friends so she couldn't expect her to start opening up.
• Now that she thought about it, Emilia wondered how they had all been so selfish. The other witnesses had said Gwen was shot to prevent her from going after Zander. If they wanted to, they could have killed Zander right there on the street. But they hadn't because Lisandra had wanted to kill her. No one had bothered to check on Gwen or bother to ask how she was. Max was busy planning the funeral while Darren had been given strict instructions to keep an eye on her at all times. They'd all forgotten that Gwen was lying in the same hospital with gunshot wounds. She could imagine how alone and scared she'd felt when she woke up.
