• Uriel closely observed Quinton’s reaction to his question, noting how he was straining to keep his emotions in check. Before Quinton could respond, there was a knock at the door, and he allowed entry. Safira came in, serving coffee to both of them. Uriel noticed the meaningful glance she gave him but chose to ignore it. He had no desire to continue the conversation in front of others and wasn’t planning to press further. To his surprise, however, Quinton answered despite his servant’s presence.
• “Regarding your question, I can say they chose to stay. Taylor won’t be my Beta; Sara is my Luna,” Quinton said with a slight smile.
• Safira dropped the tray when she heard those words. Despite her apologies, she couldn’t escape Quinton’s reprimand.
