Chapter 36 Unexpected Visit

• Philip woke up with Rachel in his arms, still sleeping deeply. He slowly slid his arm out from under her, propping himself up, and stayed there, watching her sleep. Rachel was facing away from him, and for the first time, Philip noticed a mark behind her ear.
• It was a birthmark, and he found it intriguing. After observing it for a while, Philip decided to get up and prepare coffee. He always rose early when at the pack, so staying in bed wasn’t easy for him. Rachel woke to a call from the Ames shelter team, checking on her.
• After assuring them she was fine, she got up, showered, and left the bedroom. Philip was in the living room, holding a coffee mug and gazing out the window.
