• "Wait, you mean you're going on a vacation and I wasn't told at all?" Eloise said in disbelief, her eyes wide with surprise. Clara nodded sheepishly.
• "My fiancé planned it for both of us... a little getaway. Maybe even prepare for our wedding while we're there," Clara explained, her cheeks glowing with happiness. Eloise forced a smile and nodded.
• "That's great," she said with a sigh. She had agreed to come to Italy thinking Clara would be available to take care of Bruno. She trusted nobody with her son apart from Clara, who had been like a second mom to him.
