• The sound of my footsteps bounced off the mansion walls. I held my head straight as I walked down the hallway, my jaw clenched in determination.
• After the revelation from the pack Seer last night, I was barely able to sleep. I had moved around and shuffled the entire night, and this morning, I had wasted no time before dismissing Atlas.
• He had protested — of course he did — but all it took was one glare and a threat to falsely accuse him of a crime to Kael and his protests had died down relatively quickly. I told him to make himself scarce until I called for him later today, or maybe tomorrow, and he had reluctantly agreed.
