Chapter 40 Peace Amidst The Chaos

• Sleep was a battlefield on its own. My mind, usually calm on nights like this since it wasn’t a full moon, was in turmoil. Nightmares, fragmented and disturbing past experiences. Images of blood, of violence, of the actions of my past, played in my mind. Faces of the lives I’d viciously taken away stared back at me, their expressions twisted in pain as they wailed in pain.
• I was tormented, reliving moments I had tried so hard to bury…moments that reminded me of the monster I had become.
