Chapter 9
- The trip was uneventful but taxing. They had a few stops in the wilderness and some inns, whenever they were lucky to reach some during resting hours.
- She would rather fight on the battlefield than take a very long journey to another city. There was nothing adventurous about it. Well, maybe if there were occasional bandits along the way. Nonetheless, this did not worry Ril’m or Daramir at all. They could always take on a group of criminals any time of the day, with just the both of them. How much more when they had half a dozen more troops with them? Anyway, they hadn’t had the misfortune of meeting one.
- It was afternoon when they arrived in Karavil City. They went directly to her foster father’s home in the capital. It was her first time there. The estate was huge and well-maintained. The maroon tiles of the roof were almost shining in the afternoon sun. The flowers in the garden were in full bloom, swaying gaily in the cool breeze in the last month of summer. Their sweet scents wafted in the air. They smelled so fresh and relaxing. She thought she’d have a grand tour with Daramir the following day.
