Chapter 35

  • The general had taken so much care of that steel-and-titanium saber, more than herself. She always cleaned it up even if she hadn’t even bathed herself for days while in battle or on a journey. But now, it was ruined by a little unpredictable monster! Better her enemies, she could read them. And yet, this child wasn’t readable at all.
  • The saber was her treasured weapon, given to her by Daramir when she enlisted in the army. It was a gift that she wouldn’t trade for anything. Next was the gift set that the king gave to her a couple years ago when she was promoted. Each boot had a hidden knife as her spare weapons.
  • The king immediately got up from his seat. “No, no, no, Xaderrius!” he exclaimed, taking the brush from his son’s hand and putting it down, though it was too late. He carried the child in his arms and turned to face the general apologetically. “Forgive us, General.”
