• Their men continued to watch the activities at the stonewall. The northern defenders had finished digging the grave and lowered the body that was carefully wrapped with a navy blue silk blanket. The soldiers knelt and bowed facing the grave. They repeated it about six times before covering the body with soil. They then knelt and bowed again for another six times. They stood there for a few minutes before they went back, climbing up the wall using ropes, since there was no gate to avoid an easy breach from their enemy.
