Chapter 68

  • Two hours later, after taking a good bath and resting for a while, Mía and Meghan went to Patrick's room; by mutual agreement, they had decided it would be the meeting point. The reasons were simple; he had the biggest TV and the biggest bed; they could all fit without problems. Patrick had no problem accepting; since the conversation with Meghan, he had realized that his refusal had been for the best. His healing was still a process, but with each passing day, his thoughts were moving away from Astrid and making him more and more aware of Meghan's presence.
  • He had to heal to offer it; it was such a big truth. Fortunately, Meghan was a smart woman and had made him see it without making him feel guilty for wanting to forget his old love. Everything was a process, and he was on his way to overcoming it. He just hoped that, when he achieved it, Meghan would be at the end of his journey.
  • That night, Meghan shared the bed with Patrick again; she had fallen asleep next to Mía before the movie ended, and he didn't want to wake either of them. Patrick simply watched them and even felt jealous of how his sister sought Meghan's arms to sleep. For a crazy moment, he imagined being a little family. His heart raced, and he tried to push that image out of his head and tried to fall asleep to stop imagining a little brunette with straight hair and green eyes...
