• Meghan knocked on Daisy's door a couple of times, regretting not taking the time to call and announce her arrival. It was very likely that she wasn't home and Paul was in bed, maybe unable to get up to open the door. She was about to give up after knocking on the door two more times, but a few seconds later the door finally opened.
• "Meghan?" Daisy's surprise in her voice was genuine. They weren't expecting her; that was clear. Meghan knew it when she noticed Daisy, her hair wrapped in a towel and a bathrobe covering her body.
• "I'm sorry for the hour, Daisy, but I didn't have time to come in the morning. Patrick's accident changed everything," she explained, still standing in the hallway.
