- The sky burnt gold and rose as the sun pushed over the horizon. I stood at the edge of the cliffs, brush in hand, canvas balanced against the wind. Each stroke of colour tried to capture the warmth, the silence, and the illusion of peace. But my hands trembled. Not from the cold—but from everything that still lived inside me.
- Adrian sat a few feet away on a weathered bench, watching me. He hadn’t said much since we got here. His eyes followed every move I made, but he didn’t speak and didn’t ask questions. Maybe he didn’t know how to reach me anymore. Maybe he felt the same wall I had built, brick by careful brick, since everything went to hell.
