Chapter 23 You Were Worth It
- Luna’s POV
- My feet slammed against the pavement, raw and cut, each step leaving a smear of blood behind like a breadcrumb trail I prayed no one would follow. The pain was distant—muted under the adrenaline coursing through my veins. I didn’t stop running. Not even when my lungs burned. Not when the air sliced through my throat like glass. Not even when the world blurred around me, swallowed in a haze of rain and tears.
- The night wrapped around me like a shroud. The chaos of the auction hall—the gasps, the screaming, the gunshot—faded into the background. A grotesque memory stitched to my skin.
