Chapter 189

  • Nate’s POV
  • Jack had asked me not to think about it too much, and I’m really trying not to, but it was extremely hard not to, it was really hard not to ask myself what’s going to happen next. I had attempted to ask him that, while we had been standing at the doorway with our eyes on each other. I had wanted to ask him to what’s going to happen next with the both of us, since we were now basically on the same page, with the same mind wants, but all my thoughts had chooses that moment to not formulate properly, and my words had ended up coming out as embarrassing stutters to my mortification. Jack had thankfully had pity on me as he asked me to stop, as he asked me not to think about it, and there was just no way I could refuse him, which was why I nodded my head at him in response.
  • But now that he wasn’t here anymore to pin me with an intense gaze and make all the jumbled thoughts in my head freeze in a particular spot without doing or saying a thing, my thoughts were getting mixed with each other, troubling my already stressed out and drained mind. This was the same reason as to why Jack suddenly cut the meeting short after some time. He said it was good that we could arrive at where we were currently at, and that because he doesn’t want to overwhelm me further, that we were going to have to continue on another day.
