• He was terribly confused as to how he could have ruined things so quickly when all he had wanted was to take a step closer to her. Asking her to move in with him had been a leap, yes, but he had never asked anyone for that before. He thought he had done it well, that his words had been steady and his intent clear. Yet the sharp refusal and the rage in her eyes told him otherwise. He had misjudged her completely.
