- Adrian Kane finally managed to get rid of Vanessa and stepped into the building, his steps heavier than usual. He could feel the doorman's gaze following him, a silent reminder of the past he wished to leave buried. The man had been working there back when Adrian and Vanessa had been together, and he had witnessed every messy detail of their breakup.
