Chapter 7

  • Chris raised his eyebrow.
  • “From my car?” He asked, his face not smiling again.
  • “Yes, from your car.” The empress said.
  • Chris scoffed out loud. Maybe this was getting to another level.
  • “Empress we might have been joking since morning but that did not come to you threatening me out of my car.” Chris said to her with a stern face.
  • “Sure.” The empress said before lowering him to the back seat.
  • Chris tried to stand up when he found out his leg had been tied up. He faced the empress who was already sitting in the driver seat, glaring at her.
  • “You know why I picked this car, I knew something of this would happen and it could clear my disturbances away. So have fun at the back.” The empress said lowering the car thing that differentiated the back to the front.
  • Chris hit the thing multiple times. He should have known that she was up to something the moment she stepped out of the car. How the hell did she do that? Tie his legs without him knowing? He clenched  his fist tightly. Even though a part of him was angry, the other part of him seemed intrigued by her kind of character, wanting to know more about it.
  • The car swerved to a side, making him hit his head on the door.
  • “That’s for you Chris. For blacking me out.” He heard her say.
  • A grin made its way to his lips.
  • “This would be more interesting than I thought,” he said to himself.
  • •••••••
  • Fallon got to her company faster than she thought. She got down from his car, throwing his key on the seat before whining the pivot down. Their eyes met before she left, giving him one of her charmer smiles.
  • “It was nice meeting you Mr. Williams. But I hope we never meet again. A check would be sent to your company for the refund of the one you have given my employee. And this that happened should not be told to anyone, ” she said.
  • “Aren't you afraid that I would want all your assets when you give me the check?” Chris whined.
  • Fallon looked at him, smiling dangerously to him. She stared at him, looking at him closely before leaning down to him.
  • “Aren't you  afraid that you might not see the sun today? Lest to talk of you getting the check? What if I've tampered with your car, given that I just got down from it. Have a nice day Mr Williams.” she said before walking away.
  • Her voice sent shivers down Chris' mind. He hurriedly started finding a way to lose himself.
  • “Where the hell did she get this rope?” he cursed out loud.
  • He opened the door with his hand and rolled to the floor. What if the car blew up? It would not really pain him. He rolled far away from the car before stopping to bring out his phone. He called his fathers driver number.
  • “Lincoln, meet me at the Fallon’s empire now!” he shouted from the phone.
  • He looked up at the building, smiling to himself.
  • “This is not over Empress,” he said to himself.
  • Fallon entered her office, turning on the light on the wall. The first thing she met was a disarranged office with paperwork scattered on the floor. This made her curve her lips upward.
  • “Interesting,” she said as she carefully stepped on the paper.
  • She bent down, picking up the paper and staring at it each after the other. The curve on her lips grew wider. She noticed a brown file on the floor, crawling closer to it but not touching it. She read what was written on top of it, making her clench her fist. A lot was running through her mind. In just two days or one and half days and her office has been disrupted to this extent, it seems like someone has a death wish. She stood up, her face stern as she walked over the table to pick her car keys. It was then that she noticed that her drawer had been unlocked. She raised her eyebrow, carefully opening it to find out that her white file is missing.
  • “Who the hell did this?” she mumbled to herself.
  • After putting her in a disarray of two days, they still had the gut to disorganize her office. A dangerous chuckle escaped from her lips. It seems she had been too gentle this days. They needed to be reminded who she was. She took her car keys, dangling it in her hands and walking out. She was an empress, never to be messed with.
  • •••••••
  • The office was bustling with chatters. Most of the employers were turned to each other, talking about the day before or about the empress. Fallon, seated in the front of her computer system, grinning at this. Did they think she was a fool? She could not be called an empress without being one. She continued to look at all of them, smiling from ear to ear. It seems she needed a new set of employees. She glanced at the screen, in charge of her office, it was as silent as a graveyard. She clenched her jaw tightly, she had an idea of who could be in charge of this but she still had to confirm. Her hand that was on chin rubbed it gently, her eyes focused greatly on the system.
  • Her phone ringing tone echoed through the air, disrupting her from what she was staring at.
  • “Who the hell is calling me?” she mumbled, her face expressing disgust.
  • She turned the whole table and chair, rolling it to the bed as her eyes still remained glued to the screen. She was not missing anything that was happening in the office. She took her phone, using one eye to check it and finding an unknown number.
  • “Who is this?” she said with a raised eyebrow.
  • She picked the call up, placing it on the loudspeaker as she continued to stare at the skin.
  • “Empress. I hope you remember me?”  a thunderous voice echoed from the phone.
