Chapter 6

  • “So what? You decided to save someone you don't know? Help them? I don't buy that, give me a good reason.” the empress said to him.
  • Chris grinned at this, he was not expecting less from her.
  • “But that was what really happened,” he said to her.
  • Fallon's eyes went to the clock, it was 2 o'clock in the morning. Her eyes widened, looking at Chris immediately.
  • “How long have I been here?” she questioned him.
  • “One and a half days,” he said.
  • She widened her eyes more, she had been absent from the company and no one dared to ask her. She clenched her jaw tightly, they were all going to pay for this.
  • “Easy there empress, a cold expression does not really fit you.” Chris whined at her.
  • Fallon eyed him before standing up from where she was.
  • “Do you have a car?” she said to him.
  • Chris raised his eyebrow.
  • “What do you mean you have a car? Of course, I have a car.” Chris said to her.
  • “Good, I need you to take me to my company now!” the empress ordered.
  • “As your lordship pleases,” Chris retorted doing a courtesy for Fallon.
  • Fallon eyed him before walking past him. She opened the door of the room, slamming it back on him. Chris chuckled from the inside, opening the door for her not to be found. He walked down the stairs to meet her standing at the entrance of the door , checking out the knob of the door.
  • “You put a $25 million diamond as a doorknob doorknob? Impressive.” she said.
  • Chris smiled at her.
  • “I'll take that as a sign of you liking me. I didn't even know that the empress knows diamond.” he said with a raised eyebrow.
  • He noticed how her facial expression went hard again going back to the empress that almost cut his daddy off.
  • “Would you open the door?” she said to him.
  • He looked at her as he walked to the door, putting his finger at the middle of the diamond before the door was unlocked, still staring at her. Fallon's heart was racing, she needed to leave this building before she said something she’s not supposed to say. Immediately the door was unlocked, she got out to see different expensive cars arranged in order of quality.
  • “You have great taste in cars but I would like to say that white one is outdated.” Fallon said.
  • Chris smiled. It seems there was more to the empress that people do not know.
  • “Tell me empress, what is it that you don’t know?” Chris whined.
  • Fallon looked at him with a scrunched face before walking to the white one.
  • “Let’s go with this.” She said,
  • “I thought you said it was outdated.” Chris said with a raised eyebrow.
  • “More of the reason I want to go in it. Hurry up.” She ordered.
  • Chris walked gently to her, opening the car and getting into it.
  • “I would have thought you were a gentleman.” Fallon said before slamming the door shut.
  • “Easy there empress, do you want to break it?”Chris asked.
  • Fallon closed her eyes as Chris started the car. Who could be after her life apart from the moderator of her company? The man had asked her to borrow him money but it had slipped her mind. But that those not mean she would let him go freely for the attempt on her life. She would find him and bring him to light before punishing him but now she needed to get to her company and see how they've mismanaged it in two days.
  • She felt a peace of mind in the car, and her body was fully hydrated. She had been lacking sleep for the past three years making it unbelievable that she slept for almost two days. She turned to face Chris whose  eyes were focused on the road.
  • “Did you inject me with something?” she said to him.
  • “Not now, empress, I'm driving.” he said to her.
  • “You just need to answer my question. I'm not asking you to take your eyes off the road.”she said to him.
  • “I don’t talk while driving empress.” He replied.
  • Fallon dropped it, she was not even in the mood to talk to him. There was something annoying in him that just wanted her to get down and never meet him again. She closed her eyes as she rested on the car seat. Different thoughts flowed in her mind. She was acting calm around him and there was this peace and safety she felt around him since he said he was her savior. She badly wanted to sleep and be woken up when they got to their company. She opened her eyes immediately looking at him.
  • “Do you know where my company is?”she questioned.
  • Chris scoffed at this. Since he met her yesterday, he already knew everything about her, where she lives, her daily schedule. So why won’t he know her company?
  • “Yes, your highness. Would you let me focus on the road?” He said to her,
  • Fallon sighed before facing the road back. She had said more than she says in a week to this man. Even though she had heard of the name Chris Williams, how sure was she that he was not a dupe? She widened her eyes at this thought, looking closely at him. The truth was that she had not seen the actual Chris Williams before,, even on TV’s or even in real life. All she knew was that he was the richest man in the business world.
  • “Pass me your phone.” Fallon said to him.
  • “Take it in my back pocket and stop disturbing me. I don’t like talking while driving.” Chris said, his voice getting sterner.
  • “That’s your problem. You can’t shout at me.” Fallon said before reaching into his back pocket and taking the phone.
  • The car pulled over suddenly as Chris removed her hand from his back pocket.
  • “Empress, I helped you. And one thing I don’t tolerate is people disturbing me while driving. So please do not disturb me again!” He shrieked at her.
  • Fallon gasped out.
  • “What! Did I ask you to help me? I never asked you and if you mean helping me I can’t check if you are the real Chris Williams or not, then that is called faking not helping.” Fallon yelled back at him.
  • Chris widened his eyes, he stared at Fallon surprisingly.
  • “Are you telling me you really don’t know who I am?” Chris asked.
  • “Am I supposed to know?” Fallon said, rolling her eyes.
  • Chris scoffed out. This empress must be kidding him.
  • “You’ve not seen me before?” Chris questioned.
  • Fallon took a deep breath. This was it!
  • “You stopped the car because you wanted to ask me this?” Fallon said before getting out of the car.
  • She stumped across the driver's seat, opening it before smacking her hand on Chris’s head.
  • “Ouch empress. What do you think you are doing?” Chris whined.
  • She smirked at him before leaning to him, he shifte do back wondering what style was this again. He shifted back until his head was touching the passenger's seat.
  • “Get out!” The empress said to him.
