Chapter 13

• Chris was in his office, documents spread over his table with a pen in his hand but his mind was in a different place. His mind was with the empress. He was waiting for her to give him a call and abuse him or better still, thank him for the food he cooked. He had not slept throughout the night learning different recipes from the old chef in their house to cook for the empress. He was intrigued by everything in her, her smile, beauty, brain, and how a 24-year-old lady could build an empire on her own. He wanted to know more about her, be with her, and at least talk together like normal friends.
• The phone on his table disrupted his thought, making him shake his head before answering it.
• “Hello,” he said.
