Chapter 16 Clearing The Air

• I was not lying when I told Launi I had already begun to look for places. While the girls were showering, I began the hunt. I have found a couple of places that would be good for us. One was even a nice four bedroom house. It was a little further from the office, but after all this I was still not sure how much longer I would be working at SM. I knew we could not stay here. I was not even sure that Devon and I would be able to continue to work together. I had even begun job hunting which I hate. I had avoided him most of the day. I had caught glimpses of him a few times, but I made sure to go the opposite direction. Netaeylae had offered to show the girls around and introduce them to a few other kids their age. I was grateful for this since it gave me time to do everything I needed to. I rubbed my chest for what seemed like the hundredth time as I sat here on a laptop scrolling through listings of houses. I was currently sitting on the large, overstuffed chair on the balcony outside of Devon's room. I let out a scream when a large warm hand was placed on my bare leg. I looked up to see Devon watching me very carefully. Damn him and those hypnotic eyes.
