Chapter 8

I watched her walking away, I was such a fool. I had to run after her and say sorry but I didn’t have the courage to do that. I just closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I'll talk to her after school is over. I impatiently waited until the clock hit one thirty in the afternoon. Finally it happened. I immediately ran out of college and waited until Asteria came out of the college.
After waiting for almost fifteen minutes, finally she came out with her friend. She was silently listening to her friend with a small smile on her face but my heart clenched because of that smile. She was smiling but I could tell that she was hurt from her eyes. I slowly walked towards her and she suddenly looked at me with a questioning gaze.
“Asteria… I’m sorry” I found my voice was low and filled with both hurt and guilt. She watched me for a while and her eyes turned moist. She slowly looked away from me.
