Chapter 38

• I entered her room and saw she was sleeping on the bed. Without waking her up I stepped towards the bed and sat on the floor while looking at her face. She had been crying before falling asleep, her cheeks are still wet and also her eyes. I slowly raised my arm and caressed her smooth cheeks.
• “I’m sorry Asteria..” I whispered and kissed her forehead. Watching her for more than fifteen minutes I decided to leave.
• “Don’t go..” As I got up and turned to leave my wrist was caught by a soft hand and then I heard Asteria’s broken voice. My eyes turned red and I looked down not wanting to look at her. Was she awake all the time?
