Chapter 3

• ~ Asteria (POV) ~
• How am I supposed to tell Luna Martha that I already found my mate and he’s her son but he just rejected me without a second thought? No.. I don’t want him to be in a difficult situation. He rejected me and that’s it, there’s no need for me to hate him. Maybe he was correct, I’m not fit to be the next Luna of our pack. I sighed and got onto the bed as I remembered how handsome Damen is.
• “Thank you moon goddess, you gave me the most amazing mate one could ever have.” I spoke in a low voice and unintentionally tears rolled down from my eyes. I bit my lower lip and closed my eyes because today was a really good and bad day for me. I’m happy that I found my mate and met my wolf but I was really unlucky because my mate rejected me while saying that I’m not strong enough to be his Luna.
• “Everything will be okay Asteria, just sleep now” I wiped my tears and spoke to myself as I decided to sleep.
• “Asteria, I was waiting for you..” my eyes snapped open as I felt someone caressing my face. I looked at the man who was touching my face and my heart shook with terror.
• “Who...who are you?” I asked with my shaking voice. I wanted to see his face but I couldn’t because the side of his face was covered with a mask.
• ‘A vampire.. he’s a vampire’ I heard Ashlin’s voice and my fear became worse. How could a vampire enter our pack? No.. this is not normal.
• Suddenly he climbed to the top of me and moved his face closer to my neck. I tried to push him away but I couldn’t do it because of his strength.
• “Go away… help” I screamed but my voice didn’t come out.
• “I see, you already found that Bastard….” he grabbed my face and spoke. Bastard? What? Tears rolled down from my eyes because I was scared. I struggled to break free from him.
• “He rejected you, right? Let me mark you and mark you mine now, he will suffer everyday.” Is he talking about Damen? How? How does he even know that?
• “No… let me go… don’t” I struggled using all my strength as he pressed his teeth against my neck. No.. only Damen can mark me.
• “Damen…. help” I found my voice was shaking and my body was shivering. The only thing I could think about was about Damen. I knew it’s useless but… he’s my mate..
• “No.. not him again” the man who was pressing me against the bed spoke with both hatred and anger as he suddenly grabbed me from my waist and vanished from there. My head began to hurt as I felt his spell. I knew vampires could teleport but I never experienced this kind of thing.
• Soon after he brought me into a wooden cottage and pushed me against the bed. Suddenly my wolf let out a growl as she became furious because of his actions.
• “Don’t you want to celebrate your birthday?” He asked as he came closer to me. Why do I have to celebrate my birthday with an unknown man like him?
• “What do you want? A vampire.” I asked him as he chuckled..
• “Why? a vampire can’t fall in love with a werewolf?” What? What did he just say? A vampire and a werewolf? It’s impossible because our kinds were always rivals.
• “I've wanted to have you ever since I saw you. But this time everything has changed because he just simply rejected you” he sat on the corner on the bed and said. I still couldn’t see his face because of the mask.
• “Please let me go.. I won’t tell anyone that you came to our area” I said, I wanted to leave this place as soon as possible. I will never trust any vampire.
• “No.. be with me. I’ll give everything you want.. just be my wife” he removed his mask and hoodie as he looked at me. I was stunned as I saw him, handsome. Gray hair and blue eyes, he’s just simply so handsome as a vampire but unfortunately my heart was just empty and it didn’t beat like I happened when I saw Damen.
• “I’m sorry… I can’t” I looked up at him and said as his eyes turned cold, then he shook his head and clenched his jaws.
• “You have to… you should. He rejected you, Asteria. Don’t think about him” A sudden shiver ran through my body as I heard his words. He was right, my mate rejected me.
• “Maybe, he will change in the future.” I spoke because I had a little hope inside of myself. I don’t know if my hope was correct or not but I won’t give up until Damen accepts me or marries another woman.
• “Can you let me go?” I again asked him with a small smile and he watched me for a while before nodding at me. Then he came to me and took my hand as he placed the kiss on it.
• “I’ll make you mine. I waited for so many lives” with a gentle smile he covered my eyes with his palm and suddenly everything changed. As I opened my eyes I saw my house. I looked around and saw I was standing in front of my house but he was nowhere to be seen.
• I just couldn’t understand what happened. I just simply sighed and took a few steps towards my house. Suddenly I felt a presence behind me and at the same time I felt a familiar orange scent. My heartbeat quickened as I guessed who it was. I slowly looked back and saw Damen, who was staring at me. His eyes were dangerous but yet attractive. Is he angry? Why?
