• The Moon Goddess temple was quiet and peaceful as the Silver Moon pack gathered for my Alpha ceremony. Garlands hung everywhere and the smell of incensed herbs wafted in the air. The soft glow of moonlight filled the space. Pack members stood around me, their eyes watching with hope and curiosity. Darius's warriors were present too, standing tall and proud, showing their support even as Darius and Elara stood behind. I could sense Darius’s eyes boring into my back. I wanted to turn back and ask him to come here to stand with me as my mate, but I quickly shoved my thoughts at the back of my mind.
• I wore a simple white dress, a symbol of new beginnings. The Shaman stood at the front, holding the knife, which he was going to use to draw my blood. My hands were shaking as I stepped forward, my heart racing with the weight of what was ahead of me. I glanced at the statue of the goddess and took a deep breath. My pack members wanted change, and I was ready to give it to them.
