Chapter 48

• To keep herself trim and active during her summer break, 18 year old Abigail enlisted in dance lessons being run at the local dance academy. The late afternoon lessons were run by Ella, an ex-professional dancer who enlisted her dance partner Sebastian to help with the practicalities of the lesson and to act as a dance partner for the students if required.
• Abigail enjoyed the lessons which were held in a group of a dozen girls of similar age. None of them were particularly serious about dancing as a career, and just wanted to keep an interest going, as well as the exercise benefits. They practised a variety of styles from disco, Latin American, ballroom and ballet.
• Abigail got on well with a number of the other girls and they all got on well with the instructors. Nevertheless, they were quite demanding and exacting with their standards, so all the girls really put some effort into it and tried their best.
