Chapter 8 Awakening In A New Environment

• ~ Elara ~
• I slowly opened my eyes, blinking against the soft morning light that filtered through the large window. I found myself in a cozy room, the walls were adorned with earthy tones and delicate decorations. The bed I lay in was incredibly comfortable, and for the first time in what felt like ages, I truly rested.
• I sat up, taking in my surroundings. The room had a warm, inviting atmosphere with a view of the lush forest outside. The scent of sandalwood with a touch of golden warmth and the blooming wildflowers wafted in through the open window, filling me with a sense of peace and belonging.
• I was in the Starfrost pack where Ronan had brought me to. I felt like I was home, the warmth and peace of this new environment was undeniably sweetening. A gentle knock on the door drew my attention, two omegas entered, their faces lit up with excitement.
• “Good morning, ma’am! I hope you had a nice night?” The girl asked cheerfully.
• “Good morning, ma’am,” the young lad greeted softly.
• “Please, just call me Elara,” I replied warmly.
• They looked at each other and gave themselves an affirmed nod before turning to look at me. The girl seemed to be super excited to see me.
• “Elara, I’m Mira and this is Kai. We are the omegas assigned to take care of you diligently and efficiently. We are here to make sure you are comfortable with your new environment, that you eat well, sleep well, stroll well…”
• “Mira, you talk too much!” Kai snapped at her, nudging her softly at her arm.
• She giggled nervously, making me chuckle. “No need to be hostile towards her, she did nothing wrong. Plus I think Mira is adorable,” I said to Kai.
• Mira jumped up and down excitedly. “Thanks for the compliment, Elara!”
• “We made plans for you today. You have your schedule fully covered today,” Kai said.
• I raised my eyebrows questionably at both of them. “Plans? What plans are you talking about?”
• “We thought you might like to go shopping today.” Kai nodded enthusiastically. “Beth is coming with us, she’s got great taste and knows all the best spots.”
• “Who’s Beth?” I asked curiously.
• “Bethley Garvey, she is the Beta’s mate and the best cook in the packhouse. We call her Beth for short, she is a very nice lady, you will love her, trust me,” Mira replied.
• “But to go shopping, I don’t have any money,” I said with a tone of disappointment.
• “We talked to the Alpha about it and he has the payment covered up. All we have to do is pick a store and get the clothes you like,” Kai replied.
• I was relieved and grateful to hear that Ronan had covered up for the payment. I hoped to see him again and thank him properly. Then another worrisome thought crept into my head.
• “And I don’t have any clothes to wear!” I exclaimed. I was still wearing Ronan’s shirt, making me blush hard.
• “Don’t worry. Beth has that covered up for you too, she picked out a comfy outfit from her closet for you,” Mira said and handed the clothes to me.
• Everyone was being so nice to me, and I don’t have to do hectic work every day to survive. The experience was new, but I was definitely going to get used to this.
• “Let’s get you ready for today’s activities. It’s going to be awesome,” Kai said.
• I smiled , feeling their infectious energy as it lifted my spirits up. “That sounds wonderful.”
• We chatted animatedly as they helped me to get dressed, our excitement palpable.
• “You will love the town,” Mira said, her eyes sparkling with joy. “It’s full of charming little shops and cafes.”
• “Beth is a fashion guru. She will make sure that you look amazing,” Kai added.
• Outside the pack, I saw an average woman with blonde hair standing in front of a car. The moment she sighted us, her face lit up with a charming smile
• “You must be Elara Emberheart, it’s a pleasure to meet you in person,” she said, her voice was high pitched but eluded a melodic tone.
• “You must be Beth? It’s a pleasure to meet you too,” I replied softly.
• All of a sudden, Beth hugged me tightly. When she let go, she squeezed my hands and grinned from ear to ear. “I assure you that you’re going to enjoy today with me. We will tag it as the best day
• of our lives ever!”
• “I can’t wait to see the town,” I said happily.
• “Then get in the car and let’s get moving!” Beth screamed.
• As we drove to the town, Beth kept the atmosphere lively with beautiful stories about the Starfrost pack. Mira was right, I love Beth and her matching energy is on point.
• The bustling town near the pack’s territory was alive with a lot of ongoing activities. The streets were lined with various shops and stalls, offering everything from clothes to handmade craft. There was blasting music coming from somewhere and people danced lightly to it as they went about their normal businesses. We strolled through the town, enjoying the vibrant atmosphere that was presented to us.
• “This place has the best clothes,” Beth said, guiding us into a boutique. She turned and said to me, “Let’s find you something fabulous.”
• “Welcome to our fabulous boutique!” The sales girl greeted us. “I’m Porsha and I will be attending to you for today.”
• “Hi, Porsha. We would love to pick a lot of pretty clothes for our friend here, Elara,” Beth gestured at where I stood and Porsha waved at me. “We would love to see your best outfits, casual or not.”
• The fashion game had begun. I tried on several outfits, each one proved to be more beautiful than the last. Mira and Kai offered enthusiastic feedback, and Beth provided expert fashion advice.
• “The tips of that dress are too tight , you won’t walk around freely with such a tight gown,” Beth warned.
• I took her advice immediately and took off the dress, requesting for more clothes from Porsha who was more than willing to show us lots and lots of clothes. The way Beth picked most items. I wondered where I would even wear them to go to.
• After what felt like eternity, we were done with selecting the perfect outfits for me. While Porsha packaged them in a designer bag, Beth clutched to my hand and beamed at me.
• “I’m sure that Ronan will love all the outfits we picked out for you, especially the sexy ones,” Beth said, her gleaming with happiness. She looked like she was proud of herself for delivering a good job.
• I blushed profusely at what she said. “It’s not like that.”
• She chuckled when she saw my red face. Porsha handed the bags to Mira and Kai, and she told us how much our bill was. I marveled at the amount, I have never spent such an amount of money before.
• “Alpha Ronan has covered the bill for us,” Beth said, showing Porsha a stamped seal which signifies approval from the Alpha.
• Porsha nodded, “Very well then. Have a nice day.”
• We left the boutique with smiles on our faces. Beth dragged us to other stores where we sampled local treats from street store vendors, laughing and sharing stories as we explored. I felt a growing sense of camaraderie with them. The shopping trip was not just about clothes; it was about bonding and creating new memories.
• After returning from the shopping trip, I went back to my room with Mira and Kai while Beth went to prepare a simple meal for us to eat. I felt content and happy with the activities of the day. I was admiring my new clothes as Mira and Kai arranged them neatly in the closet.
• A gentle knock on the door snapped me out of my reverie. I opened the door to see Darius, the Gamma.
• “Elara, Elder Alaric wishes to speak with you,” Darius said. “He is waiting in the council chamber.”
• All of sudden, my excitement was tempered by a sense of apprehension.
