- I followed Lucian through the grand hallways of the Silvercrest packhouse, my footsteps slightly hesitant as we approached the elder’s quarters. My head was still spinning from everything that had happened—the confrontation with Draven, the ordeal with Lysander, and now, finding myself in this new pack, trying to figure out where I belonged. My body was still weak, and though Lucian assured me I was safe, my mind couldn’t help but wander to the looming threats that still hung over us.
- Lucian stopped in front of a heavy wooden door adorned with intricate carvings, symbols that looked ancient and full of history. “Phelan is… traditional,” Lucian said, giving me a brief glance. “He’s wise but wary. Don’t take anything he says personally. He’s loyal to me and the pack, but he’ll need time to get used to you.”
