- Lucian approached me as I sat alone near the edge of the forest, the remnants of my confrontation with Elara and Ronan still simmering inside me. I didn’t want to talk to anyone, least of all Lucian, but his presence was unmistakable. I could feel the weight of his steps as he neared, and I clenched my jaw, doing my best to ignore him. My anger was still too raw, and I wasn’t in the mood for another lecture.
- “Thorne,” Lucian’s voice was calm but firm, his tone carrying a seriousness that I couldn’t easily brush off. “We need to talk.”
