Chapter 42 Tonight's The Night

• Kielan returned before Jason could say anything further. Jason smirked at me and relaxed on the couch. “Just think of what I said,” he had whispered before Kielan joined us.
• We only stayed with Jason for a few minutes after that. It seemed Kielan only came to see him because of the dock he intended to use. With Jason's assurance that things would go well on the day of the collection, we left the room.
• “Are we going to the bar?” I asked Jay when we stepped out of the door, with it closing gently behind us, taking with it the scene still playing out.
