Chapter 9 Unexpected Fellow: Jealousy On The Peak

• Nyssa left the park, her steps firm and her mind clear. The confrontation with her stepfamily had left her more resolute than ever. She would no longer be a pawn in their games. As she walked, a peculiar sensation prickled at the back of her neck. She was being followed.
• She quickened her pace, deliberately heading towards a deserted alley. The footsteps behind her matched her speed. Once she was sure they were alone, she spun around, her voice low and steady. "Why are you following me? And who are you?"
• The man froze, clearly caught off guard. Without a word, he turned to flee, but Nyssa was faster. She sprinted after him, leaping onto a low wall and flipping over to land directly in his path. The move was fluid, almost graceful, and he stopped dead in his tracks, eyes wide.
