Chapter 6 Nyssa's Return And Confrontation
- The journey to the main base was initially somber. Everyone was lost in their thoughts about the upcoming separation, and the atmosphere was heavy. Ethan, ever the cheerful one, couldn’t stand the silence. He decided it was time to lift everyone's spirits.
- He nudged Liam, who was staring out the window. “Hey, Liam! How about a quick performance? I’ve been practicing my terrible acting just for this moment.”
- Liam rolled his eyes but couldn’t help but smile. “Alright, Ethan, let’s see what you’ve got.”
- Ethan stood up in the moving vehicle, adopting an overly dramatic pose. “Oh, woe is me! I shall miss you all dearly! But fear not, for I shall return as the hero of legends!”
- Liam joined in, playing along with a fake British accent. “Indeed, my good man! But beware of the treacherous Nyssa, for she is known to be as fierce as she is fair.”
- Nyssa, listening from the front, turned around with a raised eyebrow. “Fierce, huh? I’ll show you fierce if you keep this up.”
- Ethan exaggeratedly pretended to cower. “See, even now she threatens us! We must tread carefully, Liam!”
- The whole team burst into laughter, the tension easing away. Alex watched the scene unfold with a fond smile. It was clear how much Ethan’s antics meant to the team, especially in moments like these.
- Nyssa, unable to resist joining in, added, “Just remember, Ethan, if you’re going to be the hero of legends, you might want to work on that acting.”
- Ethan grinned. “Noted, Captain. I’ll sign up for drama lessons as soon as we get back.”
- The camaraderie continued with Liam jokingly saying, “Ethan, you might need more than drama lessons. Maybe a miracle.”
- Ethan placed a hand over his heart. “Your words wound me, Liam. But I shall persevere!”
- Nyssa shook her head, amused. “Just don’t quit your day job, Ethan.”
- When they finally reached the main base, it was time for heartfelt goodbyes. They hugged each other tightly, promising to stay in touch and reunite soon. The bond they shared was palpable, and it made the parting bittersweet.
- Ethan gave everyone one last cheerful grin. “Remember, no crying! We’ll see each other soon. And Liam, try not to miss me too much.”
- Liam chuckled. “No promises, Ethan.”
- Alex watched them, appreciating the unique bond this team had. “I’ve never met a team like this,” he said to Nyssa quietly.
- Nyssa nodded. “They’re special, all right.”
- Meanwhile, back at Nyssa’s family home, the news of her return had stirred up quite a storm. Her family wasn’t particularly thrilled about her coming back. They relied heavily on her income and status, but that didn’t mean they appreciated her.
- Clara, Nyssa’s younger stepsister, was the most displeased. She was the pampered princess of the family, and Nyssa’s presence always stole the spotlight. Clara stormed into the living room where her older brother, Max, was lounging.
- “Max! Nyssa’s coming back, and I can’t stand it!” Clara pouted, crossing her arms. “She’s going to ruin everything again. Everyone will fawn over her and forget about me.”
- Max sighed, putting down his tablet. “Calm down, Clara. We just need to make her time here as miserable as possible so she won’t want to stay long.”
- Clara’s eyes lit up with mischief. “Exactly! We need a plan. We have to remind her why she left in the first place.”
- Max smirked. “Leave it to me. By the time we’re done, Nyssa will be begging to go back to her base.”
- Nyssa arrived home, fully aware of her family’s intentions. She had her past life memories to remind her of their true nature. As she walked into the house, she was greeted with forced smiles and half-hearted welcomes.
- “Welcome home, Nyssa,” Max said, his smile not reaching his eyes.
- “Yeah, welcome,” Clara added, her tone dripping with insincerity.
- Nyssa met their gazes steadily. “It’s good to be back,” she replied coolly, her eyes scanning the room.
- In the past, Clara and Max’s petty schemes like. They would hide her belongings, make snide comments, and generally try to make her feel unwelcome. But this time, Nyssa was ready.
- One evening, as they sat around the dinner table, Clara made a snide remark about Nyssa’s military career. “So, Nyssa, how does it feel to play soldier?”
- Nyssa’s eyes flashed with anger, but she kept her composure. “It feels empowering, Clara. Maybe you should try doing something meaningful with your life instead of being a spoiled brat.”
- Max joined in, trying to belittle her. “Oh, come on, Nyssa. You know you’re just a pawn in the military. They don’t care about you.”
- Nyssa’s gaze was icy. “A pawn? Maybe. But at least I’m not a parasite, living off others without contributing anything worthwhile.”
- Clara’s face turned red with fury. “How dare you!”
- Nyssa stood up, her presence commanding. “No, Clara. How dare you? I’m done playing your games. I’m here because I choose to be, not because I need you. Remember that.”
- Max tried to intervene, but Nyssa cut him off. “And you, Max. You think you’re clever, stop plotting behind my back like a child . But in real, you’re just a coward who hides behind schemes. Grow up and face reality.”
- The room fell silent, the tension palpable. Nyssa’s family was stunned by her fierce rebuttal, unable to respond.
- Nyssa took a deep breath, calming herself. “I’m not the same person I was. You can try to make my life miserable this time, but you’ll find it’s not as easy as it used to be. I won’t be pushed around anymore.”
- As she walked away from the table, she look at Clara and said:Oh did you pass your exam this year which you re trying to pass from two year and left, Clara was stunnd by her word and left in anger.
- the air was thick with unresolved tension. She felt a mix of triumph and sadness, knowing she had to fight even within her own home.
- Nyssa stood in her room, looking out the window. The night was quiet, a stark contrast to the turmoil inside the house. She knew this battle was far from over, but she was ready.
- “This time, I won’t let them break me,” she whispered to herself. “I will reclaim my life, my legacy. No one will stand in my way.”
- ------
- On the Other side, Ethan stood at the threshold of Alex's house, his jaw dropping in awe. "Alex, man, you never told me you lived in a palace!"
- Alex chuckled, shaking his head. "It's not a palace, Ethan. It's just a house."
- Ethan stepped inside, eyes wide as he took in the luxurious surroundings. "Just a house? Alex, I think I saw this place in a movie once. You know, the one where the prince lives?"
- Alex rolled his eyes but couldn't help smiling. "Come on, let me show you around."
- As they walked through the grand hallways, Ethan couldn't contain his amazement. "Dude, do you have a butler? Please tell me you have a butler."
- "No, we don't have a butler," Alex replied, amused. "But we do have a very nice cook. You'll meet her later."
- Suddenly, the front door creaked open. Ethan turned to see who it was and instantly froze. Standing in the doorway was a stunningly beautiful young woman with long, flowing hair and a radiant smile.
- Ethan's eyes widened, and he nudged Alex. "Who... who is that?"
- Alex sighed, knowing what was coming. "That's my younger sister, Lily."
- Ethan's eyes lit up like a kid on Christmas morning. "Lily? What a beautiful name! Alex, my friend, you are too kind. You’ve introduced me to the person I've been searching for all my life. She is my destiny!"
- Alex stared at Ethan, bewildered. "What?"
- Ethan's expression turned to one of puppy-like adoration as he looked at Alex. "Please, Alex, let me meet Lily. I've been looking for someone like her for centuries."
- Alex gave Ethan a hard stare. "Ethan, don't even think about it."
- Lily walked over, curious about the commotion. "Hi, Alex. Who's your friend?"
- Ethan snapped out of his trance and managed to introduce himself, though his words stumbled over each other. "Hi, I'm Ethan. Nice to meet you, Lily. I, uh, I think you might be my destiny."
- Lily giggled, her laughter like music. "Well, that's a first."
- Alex stepped between them, giving Ethan a warning look. "Ethan, behave."
- Ethan put on his most innocent face. "I swear, Alex, I just want to get to know her. Maybe... forever?"
- Alex crossed his arms, his expression stern. "Don't even think about it, Ethan."
- Ethan grinned, refusing to back down. "You can't stop destiny, Alex."
- Lily, clearly amused, looked between the two. "Well, this is interesting. I think I'll leave you boys to sort this out."
- As she walked away, Ethan sighed dramatically. "Did you see that? She's like an angel."
- Alex shook his head, a mix of amusement and annoyance on his face. "Ethan, I swear, if you even look at her the wrong way, you're out of here."
- Ethan put his hands up in mock surrender. "Okay, okay. But you have to admit, she's amazing."
- Alex rolled his eyes again. "Just remember, she's my sister. You hurt her, and you'll have to deal with me."
- Ethan nodded earnestly. "Got it. I'll be on my best behavior."
- Alex couldn't help but chuckle. "Let's just hope your best behavior is good enough."
- As they continued their tour of the house, Ethan couldn't stop talking about Lily, much to Alex's exasperation.
