Chapter 61 Storm On The Balcony
- Rachel POV
- I was alone in the room, the muffled murmurs from the balcony echoing like distant thunder. Bonnie and Jeremy were out there, talking, and every syllable I couldn’t make out tightened the knot in my stomach. I paced back and forth, hugging myself, my chest so tight with anguish that it felt like the air couldn’t reach my lungs.
- The tension between them was like a storm about to break, dark clouds gathering on the horizon, and all I wanted, with an almost childish hope, was for them to find a way to understand each other. To at least coexist without hurting, without destroying one another. But that seemed like asking for too much, like trying to hold rain in my hands.
