• The SUV glided through Miami’s streets, the afternoon sun painting the glass buildings with shades of orange and gold. I could still feel the weight of Cody’s hug on my skin, like he’d left a mark I wasn’t sure I wanted to carry. But here, with Jeremy by my side, his hand warm in mine, the world felt a little lighter. At least for now.
• “You’re gonna love this condo,” he said, his tone excited, but with that glint in his eyes that always made me melt. “It’s high-end. Nick and Scarlett won’t let you live alone unless it’s somewhere luxurious, safe, with everything you deserve.”
