- I woke to the muffled sound of the glass door closing, the soft click echoing in the heavy silence of the hotel room. For a moment, I thought about getting up, but the warmth of the blanket and the faint scent of Jeremy lingering on the pillow kept me there, motionless, my eyes half-open.
- Then I heard his voice—weak, hoarse, broken—drifting from the balcony, mingling with the sound of the wind slicing through the cold early morning. Each word carried a weight, a confession he didn’t know I was hearing.
