Chapter 53 Untamed Flames
- Rachel POV
- The bathroom was a fragile oasis, a refuge where I could try to breathe, far from the frenetic pulse of the party. The neon lights and electronic music still bled through the walls, a muffled roar that made the floor tremble, but here, leaning against the sink, the world felt a little less chaotic. Or maybe it was the alcohol, burning through my veins, clouding everything except the rage throbbing in my chest.
- My reflection in the mirror was a blur of melted makeup, tangled hair, and eyes blazing with something between fury and despair. This was my party, my home, my new life, but I felt like an intruder. Celine, with her tiny dress and cutting laughs, was out there, clinging to Jeremy’s arm like a viper. And Jeremy… he stared at me, always, with those green eyes that sliced through my soul, but he did nothing. He didn’t push her away. He didn’t save me from her venom.
