Chapter 98 Joining Forces

• Asher leaned back away from the man to create more space between them. He wasn't afraid that Silas would attack him; the other vampire seemed more at war with himself, trying to piece together how things had gotten so damn messed up. Asher himself wasn't sure. Things had escalated beyond his control. At one point, he had a whole plan set ahead of him, and the next, he found himself catching feelings for the one person in the world he shouldn't even get involved with.
• "What the fuck?" Silas muttered, more to himself than Asher. The ache at the back of his head from when he had crashed into the wall was now a dull throb. But maybe he'd hit his head harder than he had thought. Maybe he was having a fever dream, a hallucination. Because there was no fucking way this was happening right now.
