• I was nervous when Darlington called me as I was already leaving Bruce's company. I didn't know what to tell Darlington, and I was nervous when I saw him return home looking annoyed. I smiled at him, wondering if Bruce had told him I came to visit. I knew Darlington didn't want me to be close to his friend, but Bruce speaking to me about marriage was something I hadn't expected.
• Bruce was nice and friendly, and I wondered if that was why Darlington liked his sister. Thinking about Jenna, I scowled as I was alone in my bedroom. I missed the nights I would usually lay on Darlington's bed and also, with the pillow separating us, I would still kick it away after rolling carelessly on the bed.
