• While I was speaking to Bella on my phone, I stood up from the bed and walked up to my new room window to peek out. I saw Darlington and his friend, Bruce, standing outside at the garage and beside Bruce's car, discussing.
• I wondered why Darlington didn't invite his friend into our house to have breakfast or lunch with us, as it was already afternoon, despite the day being Saturday. Instead, he was escorting Bruce to leave and not giving his friend a chance to get to know me.
