- I went downstairs to have my supper. It was already late, after 6pm, and I didn't bother telling Darlington about his mother's request for me to start cooking. I didn't want to dwell on Darlington being kind to me. He is his mother's son, so he definitely possesses the same traits as her.
- Stepping into the living room downstairs, I observed that Briggs already had a guest, a middle-aged, beautiful fair-skinned woman. She seemed older, like my mother's age mate. The woman was wearing a sophisticated green gown paired with black shoes. Her long blonde locks were braided neatly and packed in a bun. She was sitting on a couch across from Mrs. Ifeoma Briggs as they discussed something in the living room.
