- I couldn’t tell what the slave in the dungeon meant. Her ominous warning had been on my mind since I couldn’t take up this case all on my own. Deep down I knew I couldn’t handle this whole situation alone. Somehow, I wish the doctor was here. He’d always know what to say. But sadly, ha had been away for his main doctors exam and I had no means ofcommunication with him else I spoke to Maverick about it.
- Just then, Aria, my wolf, spoke. "Nora," she said with her voice low and serious. "If you do find any clues about Derek's disappearance, you must keep them to yourself. We can't trust anyone, not even the others working on this case. Because if the slave woman is correct, even those working on the case might have helped Derek escape, not just the guards”
