Chapter 2

  • Nora’s POV
  • I was in my room, when suddenly, Luna, Chloe’s mother, walked in with a wedding gown, throwing it at me. “Get ready. You are getting married.” She said as she walked out, not waiting to hear whatever I have to say.
  • I am getting married? To whom? And why?
  • Shortly, Chloe walked in smiling wickedly. “My mother has asked me to assist you. At least that’s all I can do to wish you a farewell into married life.” She said,
  • Hurry up, did you even bathe!" Chloe blurted out as her eyes looked up to me.
  • I quickly entered the shower and returned as soon as possible.
  • My wedding gown looked so beautiful even though Chloe made it look as if I was wearing a rag. Of course, it should look like a rag to her because her parents, the Alpha and the Luna of Dark Heart Park would definitely get her something better. On the other hand, this was the first time I was given such a beautiful dress, coupled with the fact that it was new. The dresses I wore were half-worn dresses of Chloe and Luna would give it to me whenever they were really worn out. Most times, they give it to me when it's already torn.
  • On second thought, Luna didn't see anyone to assist me get ready for my wedding but decided to tell her spoiled child to help. Ever since she came into my room, all she did was sit and press her phone while I got ready all by myself. I was almost ready, and let me describe how I looked.
  • I was without makeup but still looked beautiful even though I looked unhealthy due to the lack of good food. My brows were naturally carved, my lashes were naturally long and full. My nose are pointed and my lips were naturally pink but it was my eyes that I loved more. My Iris were naturally red and my pupils were black. Most times, people who get to see me the first time often compliment my beauty. In addition, my collar bone was visible in the eyes, obviously that I wasn't eating well. Yeah, I am so skinny that the handle of my wedding gown slipped off my shoulders and I would drag it back up, not minding because I knew my place in this pack.
  • As I stood there in my wedding gown, Chloe continued to mock me as she stared at me while I tried to tie my hair by myself in French waves, giving it a messy look.
  • "Look at this pathetic excuse for a bride. Who would even want to marry someone like you? You're nothing but a lowly maid, and that's all you'll ever be. I'm sure the groom would reject you as soon as he finds out who my father was giving out to him for marriage." Her words stung, but I held back my tears.
  • “You have no make up on. You didn't even put a blush on your cheek.” Her words were followed with a devil smirk as she dropped her phone and walked towards me. She held my cheeks with her both hands, squeezing them so tightly while I winced in pain and it was obvious she was enjoying it. Her cold eyes bored me. I could hear my wolf roar in anger but I tried to block it off, avoiding causing trouble on my wedding day. My wolf was just one month old. It appeared last month on my 18th birthday while I was in my room crying my eyes out, no one wished me a happy birthday. I didn't know I had a wolf. In fact I had lost all hope but thanks to my wolf Aria, whose presence has comforted me. Though, I haven't shifted. I just couldn't wait to see what my wolf would look like. Ever since my wolf visited, there was this sudden strength I get to fight back whoever tries to maltreat me but today was a special day. I rather not ruin it.
  • “There you go." Chloe’s words were followed by the release of her hands from my cheeks. I looked at the mirror only to see them turn red. My white skin was sensitive, so sensitive that it reacts to every touch.
  • “Everyone is waiting, cheap. bride." Her words were followed by a mocking laugh as she walked out of my room, heading towards the ceremony ground I guess.
  • At this point, I never stopped wondering who they were marrying me off to.
  • I took a deep breath in and out, trying to calm myself as I wiped the tears that formed in my eyes with my palms. Once ready and looking like nothing happened, I walked out of my room, walking towards the corridor leading to the main hall when suddenly, a hand gripped me. It was tight and painful. I turned to see the alpha, Chloe's father. He pulled me closer, his eyes were speaking warnings. “Do not let your crocodile tears ruin things for me." His words, thick, husky and emotionless.
  • His grip on me tightened even more as he dragged me by the wrist and pulling me as I walked alongside him. "Since you have no father, I'll do you good by walking you down.” Just as he whispered those code words, the gigantic door began to open in front of us as we walked in.
  • “Mate! "Mate!” I heard my wolf cry out as I wondered who it was but then, I didn't let that bother me. I waved it off while I continued to walk beside the alpha who thinks he was doing me a favour by walking me down the aisle, standing in the place of my father. I had no chief bridesmaid, no maid of honour. I was just alone. It was as if they were giving me up to a low class mate. Yes! Chloe was right. No powerful sweet looking alpha would want me, an omega who lacks health.
  • There were no much people in the wedding hall. It was just Chloe, Luna, the alpha king and the old priest.
  • Instantly, I perceived it, the scent, it was so intoxicating as my head was about to spin.
  • Just then, my eyes fell on a stranger, standing near the priest. He was 7 ft tall, muscular, huge and there were tattoos drawn on every side of his body that it was obvious in the eyes despite him being in a black luxurious suit. The three first up buttons of his white shirt were opened, showing his hairy and attractive chest.
  • I felt my jaw drop as I realised he was the same stranger I had a one night stand with last night. Fear gripped me, afraid that he would reject me and expose me to everyone, calling me a whore.
