• As Maverick's words sank in, a wave of dread washed over me. "What do you mean, Derek is gone?" I demanded. Myvoice trembled with a mixture of fear and outrage. “What have you done, Maverick?” I asked as the realisation that he might have killed Derek himself dawned on me.
• “Why are you the way you are? You always let anger get the best of you and now look at what you’ve done! You killed Derek, didn’t you?!” I accused.
