• Travis had just weathered what he could only describe as an awkward interview with the billion-dollar business icon. He would score himself a hard but narrow pass—he really should have listened to the ladies and practiced the lines in the notes. But alas, that ship had sailed, and he was now sailing into uncharted waters as Courtney's "paper husband."
• His next mission, should he choose to accept it, was to confirm to the public that he was indeed the father of Courtney's baby. The overly curious public would soon know that their relationship status would no longer lurk in the shadows, all according to plan. Travis wiped the sweat off his forehead, feeling like a secret agent who had just completed a high-stakes mission, before walking toward the car.
• Two men were already awaiting him, and inwardly, Travis felt a surge of joy. It was good to be part of a wealthy family, he thought to himself, like a kid who had just been handed the golden ticket to Willy Wonka's chocolate factory. One of the men opened the back door for him, and Travis hesitated for a moment, taking in the opulence, before sliding in. It all felt so luxurious and new, like a caterpillar transforming into a butterfly and discovering a world of vibrant colors and pampering.
