Chapter 64 No Lies
- For a brief moment, I lost myself. I was more than confused. I felt afraid of myself. Just like everyone else did. All I remember is that I was consumed by rage. I wanted to protect the people I loved. They were under attack. I never imagined doing things I normally disapprove of, like strangling the witch. Look at you, a woman on the ground, completely different from the literature professor. Gradually, my memory returned, and I began to grasp what had happened.
- "What did I do?" I asked, still confused. I felt my hands burning, just like my anger had minutes before. The last thing I wanted was to lose control like that. "Did I hurt anyone?"
- Adrian kept staring at me, his brow furrowed. I wished I could enter his mind and know what he was thinking about me. But I wouldn't use my powers for that without his consent. I'm not that kind of person. I don't want to hurt anyone or invade someone's mind if they don't want me to know what they're feeling.
