Chapter 29 Entangled Emotions
- Luna stood in front of the mirror, finishing getting ready for the double date. She wasn't excited to leave the house, much less for a date. She sighed, adjusting the thin strap of her black polka-dot dress. Changing clothes twice hadn't helped at all; she eventually accepted what she was wearing now. Over it, she put on a black jacket and slipped into her usual boots. She was anxious and nervous, but not about meeting her schoolmate. Adrian would be there. Despite the disappointing revelation earlier, a part of her still hoped and wanted to see him.
- Luna ran her hand through her hair, trying to tame the unruly strands. "Why does he have to be so complicated?" she thought. Adrian was a mystery she couldn't decipher. Each attempt he made to push her away only increased her interest. She told herself that no matter what happened, she would find out what was really behind his facade.
- Her parents hadn't returned from London yet. She would leave a message with the housekeeper, saying she was going out with some friends and would be back early. Taking a deep breath, she gave herself one last look in the mirror and left the room. "It's going to be okay," she murmured to herself, though she wasn't convinced. The night promised more than just a date.
