Chapter 3 I Want Her Dead!

  • When Katherine heard the voice, she looked up and saw Rose looking down at her as she sat by the window on the third floor. "Who is the father of that abomination? Don't tell me it is Wilson. He told me that you are a boring person, and he doesn't even have the desire to have sex with you!" Her voice was filled with mockery.
  • "It's none of your business!" answered Katherine as she turned her head to the side.
  • "Did you really sell your body to earn money? Otherwise, where did all that money come from? Come on, tell me. Is it a fat, middle-aged man or a wrinkly old dude?"
  • When Katherine heard her words, her eyes turned cold. She scoffed, saying, "I'm afraid that you will be disappointed! The father of my child is someone more outstanding than Wilson. If Wilson were to come face-to-face with him, he would be nothing but a mutt, kneeling before the father of my child!"
  • Hearing her words, Rose burst out laughing like she had heard the funniest joke in her life. "Quit daydreaming, Katherine," she said.
  • Seeing that Rose didn't believe her, Katherine didn't argue with her any further. If she hadn't seen Wilson bowing to Daniel and calling him his Uncle Daniel, she wouldn't have thought of avenging herself by becoming his 'aunt' and secretly entering Daniel's room! This only proved that nothing good came with recklessness! That night, her whole body was sore because of Daniel, and she wanted nothing more than to run away from him before the sun rose.
  • "Wait!" Seeing that Katherine was going to leave, Rose called her and smiled evilly. "You forgot something." Then, she threw a white cat from the third floor!
  • "Mimi!" Katherine's expression changed drastically, and she quickly let go of her luggage, rushing toward Mimi as it lay on the ground.
  • "Meow!" Mimi mewled softly and looked at her emptily with blue eyes. It looked fragile.
  • Looking at Mimi's condition, Katherine was anxious and heartbroken since she didn't know how badly hurt it was. Then, she hugged her cat tightly and glared at Rose, who was smiling arrogantly. "Broy Carter!" she said while gritting her teeth.
  • At that moment, the smile on Rose's face vanished. She looked at Katherine gloomily, and her expression was terrifying. It seemed as though she was going to tear Katherine to pieces. "What did you just call me? I dare you to repeat it!"
  • "Broy Carter!"
  • In that split second, Rose had a mental breakdown as she screamed, "I'm going to kill you!"
  • When Rose was younger, she had been abducted and given to a farmer. The farmer had a patriarchal family, but his wife couldn't get pregnant. Hence, they believed in a medium's words and bought back Rose, naming her Broy since the medium said they would then have a son.
  • To Rose, it was a humiliation to have such a name and those memories, so she forbade anyone to speak about it when she returned to the Newman Residence. Just as she thought she would be able to forget about it, Katherine, the woman she despised for replacing seventeen years of her life, reminded her by calling her that loathsome name again!
  • At that moment, Katherine had provoked her sensitive nerves. Rose responded as she always did, screaming like a madwoman. She grabbed the things beside her and threw them at Katherine. "You are a b*tch! You are just someone who stole my life! Go to hell! You should be the one named Broy! You have the genetics of a lowlife! You stole my life and replaced me! You should've been the one sent to that farmer's house!" She hissed. At that moment, crashing sounds filled the room as she threw them toward the ground.
  • While Rose was acting like a madwoman, Katherine watched her coldly. When she used to see Rose in such a state at the beginning, she would feel guilty and worried about her. After all, even though it wasn't her intention, Rose had a miserable life while she had a wonderful one.
  • However, Rose had done many hurtful things toward her, which made her less guilty; she no longer pitied her. There were many things Rose did to her—she insulted her, slapped her, tore all her clothes into pieces, destroyed her shoes and purses, burned all her design drafts, poured ice-cold water on her in the middle of the night, spat in her water, kicked her when she was going down the stairs, and mixed poison in Mimi's food among many other things.
  • Thinking about it, Katherine left without hesitation as she hugged Mimi in one hand and the other pulling her luggage.
  • On the other hand, Miranda rushed up the stairs when she heard all the ruckus. "Rosie? What's going on?" When she saw that Rose had gone mad, she quickly rushed forward and hugged her. "It's me, Rosie. Mommy's here. Don't be afraid!" She soothed.
  • "Mom, I want her dead! I want to kill that b*tch!" Rose's whole body was tense as she snuggled into Miranda's embrace.
  • "Okay, I'll kill her. I'll help you with that!" As Miranda spoke, she caressed Rose's hair adoringly while a murderous glint flashed across her eyes.
  • After comforting Rose, she went back to her room with her phone. Then, she called her husband, William Newman.
  • "Is something the matter, Mira?" asked William.
  • "William, I have kicked that b*tch out of the house. Find a chance to kill her." Miranda's voice was cold as she spoke.
  • On the other end of the phone, William hesitated and asked, "Do we really have to do this?"
  • "What do you think? Are you waiting for her to know the truth, knowing that you have killed her mother and she is the rightful heir of the Newman Family? Do you want her to take the company and the family's fortune away?
  • "Even if you say so… After all, she is Callum's child."
  • "William! If you hadn't been soft-hearted twenty years ago and decided not to kill Katherine, we wouldn't have such huge troubles now! Don't tell me that she is your brother's daughter; what matters is our own daughter! Think about how Rose had lived her life for the past twenty years! Aren't you guilty for pitying Katherine when you think about what happened to Rose?" Miranda screamed hysterically.
  • Whenever she thought about the fact that William did not kill Katherine and instead sent her to the orphanage, she was infuriated since they adopted Katherine three years later and raised her as their own for seventeen years! When she had adopted Katherine, she only thought that Katherine and Rose looked alike. Never did she expect that Katherine had the blood of the Newmans!
  • After hearing Miranda's accusation, William went silent and said, "Okay, I'll see what I can do."
  • When Katherine lived at the Newman Residence, William didn't dare to do anything to her since he was afraid of leaving evidence behind. However, things would be easier now that she had left. After all, many people died from accidents in this world!
