Chapter 79 Grandmother

• Mariah glanced around the little room she had been brought in. Five maids knelt in front oof her but Elena was not one of them. She sat on the feathered bed, it was soft and small but it can make do. With the news of the gods attacking, Alaric had ordered that children and the women who can’t fight be locked in the Panic cave he had been preparing since he saved them. The Keep, he calls it, she has heard him talk about it a lot of times but she never thought he actually built a kingdom underground. They were more rooms than she can count, an although, people were made to share, he actually made a provision for her to stay alone, long before it was even revealed that she was his mate.
• The woman, Elder Athena had insisted that Alaric marked her, however, since the news was announced that the gods were attacking, she has not seen Alaric or Asher again. She placed a hand on her stomach, it all still felt surreal to her. She is pregnant, and she is carrying twins, she could imagine how shocked and happy her parents would be. Naomi would be giving birth soon, and they are going to receive the news of her pregnancy. She almost laughed, thinking about what her father would say. She misses them, she would like to see them, to tell them the news herself. However, she reckoned that with the war about to start, she won’t be allowed to go anywhere again. She wondered if Asher had already left, he would have to give the news to their parents for her.
• A knock on the door made her glance at the maids and one of them bowed and stood up. She opened the wooden door, the only door she had seen since coming to the dragon’s land that was not a sliding door. Athena entered, and the maids bowed to her. She approached Mariah on the bed and sat beside her.
