• With a wave of his hand, Alaric lifted Cora up, and she grabbed onto her neck, choking by an invisible force. “Do you see me as a fool? You think you can barge in here with self-inflicted wounds and dump it on Mariah? Do you think I do not know her and what she can do? Tell me, servant, do you have a death wish?”
• “Your Majesty, what are you doing?” Maximus asked. “Cora is innocent; she should not be punished by that insolent woman’s doing.”
